West Virginia, also
known as the Mountain State, is home to countless mountain traversing
motorcycle rides as the state falls entirely within the Appalachian Mountain range.
Outside of its mountain scenery, West Virginia offers motorcycle riders access
to historical Civil War sites, Appalachian arts, crafts and music. Along the trek, riders can also see scenic
railroads and historical coal industry museums.
Several routes are available for motorcycle riders. The West Virginia 28 takes riders through the
Mongohela National Forest, through a valley surrounded by the mighty
Appalachian Mountains, and by the banks of rivers, providing beautiful
scenery. It also provides access to
historical sites like the Cass Scenic Railroad State Park and Green Bank
National Observatory. Many other
motorcycle routes are available.
