Each year Colorado plays host to 12 million skiers and snowboarders keen to experience its pristine champagne powder slopes and the majesty of the Rocky Mountains. With brilliant blue skies and over 300 days of sunshine a year, 54 mountain peaks over 14,000 feet, 65,000 miles of streams, 21 scenic and historic byways, 15 national forests and grasslands and 40 State parks - Colorado offers year-round scenic beauty and an abundance of outdoor activities.

In Spring, the melted snow delivers true adventurers with the thrills of white water rafting through the Royal Gorge. Located close to Canon City, The Royal Gorge is the highest suspension bridge in the world, spanning the Arkansas River at a height of 1,053 feet. Summer in the State lends itself to hiking and cycling in the mountains or a trip on the historic Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Steam Railway to the heart of the San Juan Mountain Range. Colorado offers experiences from the haunting atmosphere of Mesa Verde National Park, home to 1000 year old dwellings of the mysterious Anasazi Indians to the imposing Great Sand Dunes National Monument - home to America’s tallest sand dune - to a leisurely coffee along the lively, tree-lined avenues of Denver.
