Climate New Mexico is renowned for its good weather. Temperatures as well as rainfall and snowfall amounts vary widely due to the State's dramatic change in altitude from mountains to high desert.

The State of New Mexico is one of the most enchanted destinations in the world. Holiday and entertainment choices are boundless. With its rich mixture of culture, natural resources, renowned museums, world-famous cuisine and diverse landscapes, New Mexico is the perfect holiday escape for families and friends, for adventure and romantic getaway, for sports and recreation. Multi-cultural traditions, a storied history, tiny villages and modern cities join forces to create life-long memories.

For centuries, writers and artists have used their talents to portray New Mexico in ways that illustrate why this place is so special. The allure of New Mexico carries a mystique that is nearly inexplicable but it inspires a power that is quite real.

From its railroad beginnings in the 1890's to the aerospace industry, Alamogordo remains one of the most unique areas of the American Southwest. The stark beauty of the White Sands, surrounded by the majestic Sacramento, San Andreas and Organ Mountains, together offer the best of climate and recreation.

The uniqueness of Sante Fe, America's oldest capital dating to 1609, and Taos provides visitors with endless opportunities to celebrate the past whilst enjoying the world class museums, galleries and shopping opportunities that abound.

Since the first Albequerque International Balloon Fiesta in 1972, media representing more than 50 nations have included live satellite broadcasts around the world.

An estimated 75 percent of the world's Native American arts, crafts and silver jewellery is traded in Gallup, which owes much of its cultural and economic vitality to its position at the crossroads of three cultures - Anglo, Hispanic and Native American. Gallup's annual Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial held each August was begun in 1922 as a means of celebrating and preserving Native American Culture. Today, the event featuring noted Indian artists, craftspeople and dancers from the United States, Canada and Central America has become a "must see" for the many visitors the event draws each year.

It is no wonder that New Mexico is known extensively as America's "Land of Enchantment".
