The Green Mountain State of Vermont is the second largest state in New England, bordered by Canada, New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. A truly four season destination Vermont offers the traveller world class skiing in Winter, an array of outdoor activities through the Spring and Summer months and of course the most fabulous Fall foliage throughout September and October.

Vermont is a destination steeped in traditional values as will become apparent to the visitor when travelling through the communities of Vermont. The numerous picturesque small towns and villages offer the UK visitor a genuine and warm welcome and your hosts will insist on making you feel at home.

Vermont is a truly picture perfect destination and visitors should be encouraged to explore the back roads of Vermont. Whilst exploring Vermont the visitor will come across picture perfect villages and small towns, generally dominated by a traditional white church and surrounded by white clapboard homes and shops. A must recommendation to any visitors must be to take plenty of film for their camera - with billboards banned on the highways there is generally nothing to spoil the view.

Whether it be scenery, great food, great people, fantastic shopping - Vermont has it all.

  Vermont

STRANGE BUT TRUE ...
Vermonters celebrate everything: winter, spectacular fall colours, vegetables and herbs. There are humans dressed as dancing leaves in Bennington each fall, a zucchini festival in Ludlow in August, a garlic and herb festival in Wilmington at summer’s end, several corn and even a sunflower maze.

LOOK OUT FOR ...
Artists Stephen Huneck and Warren Kimble live in the Northeast Kingdom and Rutland areas, respectively. Famous Vermont writers include Howard Mosher and Chris Bohjalian. They and many other well-known authors live and can be seen in small, rural Vermont communities.

IF YOU ONLY SEE ONE THING ...
Visit a distinctively New England place or event - an agricultural fair in late summer or early fair, the Vermont Ski Museum or Fairbanks Museum in winter, Maple Open House Weekend in March, Hildene’s peony or Shelburne Museum’s lilac celebrations in May and June.
