Affordable Activities the Entire Family Can Enjoy
1. Movies at the Palace Theatre: Catch a classic film on the big screen at the Historic Palace Theatre. From family-friendly favorites to cult classics, there is a wide variety of movies to enjoy. Concessions are available for purchase. Prices range from $5 - $6.
2. Historic Nash Farm: Explore Nash Farm, a living museum where families can experience what life was like on a working 1890s Texas farm. See farmyard animals, take a wagon ride, participate in chores, and learn about 19th-century farming practices. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
3. All Tracks Lead to Grapevine: Grapevine transforms into a prehistoric paradise featuring a dinosaur dig, a towering T-Rex replica, and educational exhibits at the Grapevine Tower Gallery (admission $1). Soar through time with educational programs at the Observation Tower ($3) and at the Grapevine Public Library. The Historic Palace Theatre is getting in on the fun with dinosaur-themed movies on Thursdays throughout the Summer ($5). Merchants on Historic Main Street are also taking part in the dinosaur experience with delicious dino treats and dino swag.
4. Grapevine Main Station & Observation Tower: Enjoy panoramic views of Grapevine from 150 feet in the air. Talking points include an informational overview of the arts and history. Once in the Tower, guests can learn about points of interest in Grapevine and the DFW Metroplex.
5. Lone Star High-Railers Model Train Exhibit: Check out the model layout in a vintage baggage car! Open most Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and most Sundays 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Special tours for groups can be arranged. Admission fees are $2 for adults, $1 for children 2 to 12, and free for those 2 and under. Guests also check out the model train exhibit inside the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau building.
6. Grapevine Museums & Historic Sites: The Grapevine Historical Museum and the Settlement to City Museums complex behind it, offer a glimpse into Grapevine's past. Explore exhibits on agriculture, industry, family life, and more.
7. Splash Pads on Peace Plaza: Cool off at the splash pads outside Grapevine Main Station. This includes our Summer Splash Bash (5 p.m. - 8 p.m.)! This free family-friendly event has bounce houses, a DJ, and more. This weekly event happens every Sunday in July. Guests are encouraged to B.Y.O.T. (bring your own towels).
8. Hiking, Biking & Walking Trails: Grapevine boasts over 22 miles of hard-surface trails and 4 miles of soft-surface trails, offering options for all interests and abilities. The trail system conveniently links nine parks, totaling over 1400 acres, making it easy to explore a variety of landscapes within the city
9. Grapevine Botanical Garden: Explore the ever-changing beauty of Grapevine's award-winning Botanical Garden. This tranquil spot features walking paths, sitting areas, and a pond with fish for viewing. 
10. Grapevine Public Library: The Grapevine Public Library offers a variety of free, kid-friendly events throughout the week, including story time, arts & crafts programs, and special presentations. Check the library website or calendar for the latest schedule.
