The John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum in Waterloo showcases the history and innovation of Deere equipment. Living History Farms
Living History Farms in Urbandale, is a 500-acre outdoor museum that brings to life 300 years of Midwestern agricultural history. You can explore different farms representing the years 1700, 1850, and 1900, along with an 1875 rural town called Walnut Hill. You can watch costumed interpreters demonstrate traditional farming techniques, crafts, and daily life from each era, making it an immersive, hands-on experience. You can ride a tractor between sites and learn how farmers transformed prairie land into productive farms.

When it comes to fresh flavours, take yourself to the  farmers' markets which are bursting with colourful, farm-fresh produce and more. Locally sourced, in-season ingredients take centre stage on the menus of restaurants.
Treat your taste buds to the authentic farm-to-table experience at places like Taste in Osage, Brazen Open Kitchen & Bar in Dubuque, and Primrose in Corning, where the Flavours you savour come straight from the farm to your plate.
This blend of agriculture, history, and culinary pride offers a genuine taste of Iowa’s heartland spirit with hands-on and delicious experiences for visitors of all kinds.
