75 Years of Detroit History: Celebrate at the Detroit Historical Museum

This July, the Detroit Historical Museum marks its 75th anniversary with a special Block Party on 24 July, inviting visitors to celebrate one of the city's most treasured cultural attractions. The anniversary also forms part of wider celebrations marking Detroit's 325th birthday and the nationwide America 250 commemorations.

Visitors can explore the museum's galleries and special exhibitions while enjoying live entertainment, local food trucks, community vendors and a display of historic vehicles from the museum's collection. Families can also enjoy a dedicated Kids Zone featuring hands-on crafts, interactive learning activities, face painting, henna artists and caricaturists.

The celebrations continue on 25 July with the Dossin Great Lakes Museum Block Party on Belle Isle, offering another opportunity to discover Detroit's rich maritime heritage as part of this landmark anniversary weekend.
