San Antonio’s deep cultural roots and rich history remain at the heart of the visitor experience.The Briscoe Western Art Museum will debut Tejano Legacy: Another American Origin Story in July 2026. The expansive bilingual exhibition explores nearly 400 years of Tejano history, heritage and culture and opens in connection with America’s 250th anniversary. A companion exhibition, Selena Forever / Siempre Selena, opens 4th June.Along the River Walk, Fiesta Noche del Rio continues on weekends at the Arneson River Theatre, celebrating music, dance, culture and colourful costumes in one of San Antonio’s most iconic settings.
Downtown continues to evolve as well. At the Alamo, the Texas Cavaliers Education Center just opened, as well as the new pedestrian-friendly promenade entryway as part of the broader $700 million Alamo Plan.Also in the heart of the city, Mexico Ceaty is bringing a new dining, entertainment and cultural destination to The Shops at Rivercenter. Created by the Jason Dady Restaurant Group, Mexico Ceaty features an expansive restaurant, live food stations, bars, social spaces, retail, live music, artisan features and interactive demonstrations, creating a living culinary and cultural experience downtown.
San Antonio’s summer lineup is filled with new attractions and returning favorites.At Six Flags Fiesta Texas, guests can enjoy Fiesta Luz, a new nightly drone spectacular featuring more than 175 illuminated drones. The show will evolve throughout the season, first spotlighting the park’s themed areas and attractions, then shifting after July 4 to celebrate the park’s history and future, including previews of its 35th anniversary season in 2027. Families can also look forward to classic Looney Tunes characters and the largest DC Universe theme park area in the U.S.San Antonio is also home to one-of-a-kind experiences that continue to set the destination apart.
Morgan’s Wonderland, the world’s first and only fully accessible theme park, recently debuted WingZ of Wonder, a 39-foot-tall interactive tower ride designed for all guests to enjoy. Morgan’s Hotel – the world’s first ultra-accommodating hotel is scheduled to open this fall. From theme parks and waterparks to cultural exhibitions, historic landmarks, culinary discoveries and walkable downtown adventures, San Antonio offers a summer getaway that is close, convenient and full of unforgettable moments.
