Day
1 – On arrival in San Juan, collect your hire car and spend your first night in
Puerto Rico relaxing at your hotel before continuing on in the morning.
Day
2 – This morning, make the short journey to
Ponce, known as the 'Pearl of the South', the city is located on Puerto Rico's
south coast and is teeming with historical and cultural attractions to enjoy.
Why not take an afternoon tour of the Museo de Arte de Ponce or take a walking
tour; a great way to explore the second largest of Puerto Rico's cities. You
could also visit Cruceta del Vigia, a 100ft cross atop Vigia Hill and Enjoy the
amazing views of the city and Caribbean Sea from the sky bridge.
Day 4 – On your way
back to San Juan today, stop off at Toro Verde Nature Adventure Park and enjoy
their unforgettable ziplining experiences, including the 'Monster', America's
longest zipline. Visit Puerto Rico's oldest distillery, Ron Del Barrilito;
founded in 1880, they still use the same secret formula and ageing process as
they did nearly 150 years ago. Take a walking tour of Old San Juan and see the
pastel coloured streets that make up the island's cultural heart. For something
a bit different, go on a night kayaking experience in San Juan's picturesque
lagoon; a unique way to see the city.
From San Juan, you can
also visit El Yunque National Rainforest, the only tropical rainforest in the
U.S. The area has a hugely diverse ecosystem and is home to hundreds of unique
plant and animal species, including the island's famous coqui frog.
Day 8 – Make your way
back to the airport for your onward flight.
**Puerto
Rico is a great stand alone destination but can also be a fantastic stop off
before or after a longer trip to the US**
