Sports experiences ALLEGIANT STADIUM, PARADISE, NEVADA Take a 75-minute behindthe-scenes tour of one of the newest National Football league (NFL) stadiums – the $1.9 billion Allegiant is the home of the Las Vegas Raiders and opened in 2020. The tour includes access to the broadcast and press rooms, the locker rooms where the teams change and the opportunity to step out onto the field. ORACLE PARK, SAN FRANCISCO The sport that inspired baseball movies like A League of Their Own, The Natural and Moneyball is played across the U.S. in some iconic, historic and breathtaking venues. Tuck into a chilli dog or pretzel whilst enjoying views of Bay Bridge as the home-town Giants try to hit it out of the ballpark and into McCovey Cove. DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, FLORIDA Daytona Beach is the birthplace of NASCAR racing – it was founded at the historic Streamline Hotel in 1948 – and the Daytona International Speedway is the venue for the annual Daytona 500, the sport’s most prestigious race. Besides watching races, visitors can take tours of the track, visit the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America museum and enjoy a high-speed NASCAR ride as a passenger or even behind the wheel. CHURCHILL DOWNS LOUISVILLE The Kentucky Derby horse race, held on the first Saturday in May, has been described as the 'most exciting two minutes in sports'. Fans can show up on Oaks (Friday) or Derby Day and buy standing room infield tickets. Dressing up is one of many rich Derby traditions. Derby day packages usually include pre-race paddock and museum tours. INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY, INDIANA Opened in 1909, The Brickyard, as the racing circuit is known, has a permanent seating capacity of 275,000, with infield seating taking it to 400,000. The Indy 500 race is the most attended single day sporting event in the world – but it rarely sells out and you can usually stroll up and buy tickets. Visitors can enjoy the IMS Museum, grounds tours and on-track experiences including driving an IndyCar racing car. FLUSHING MEADOWS NEW YORK The U.S Open, at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre, is the biggest tennis tournament staged in the U.S. It was here that British qualifier Emma Raducanu pulled off her surprise win in 2021, at the centerpiece Arthur Ashe Stadium. Tickets for the event are readily available and the centre is open year-round to the public for play, except during the US Open. Subway trains serve the venue from Grand Central Terminal and a bus operates out of Port Authority Bus Terminal.
