NYC Pride in New York City draws the crowds to Manhattan, while Capital Pride in Washington DC, Denver’s PrideFest and Key West Pride in Florida also celebrate diversity and inclusion. GAYBOURHOODS The U.S. has officially-designated gay-friendly neighbourhoods known as 'Gaybourhoods', where restaurants, bars, nightclubs and other businesses cater to LGBTQ+ residents and visitors. These include Chicago’s Boystown, Capitol Hill in Seattle, the Castro District in San Francisco and Philadelphia’s Gaybourhood. LGBTQ+ ATTRACTIONS New York City’s Stonewall National Monument honours the LGBTQ+ equality movement that sprang up following the Stonewall Uprising riots of 1969. A visitor centre opens in 2024. The Stonewall National Museum & Archives in Fort Lauderdale is said to contain America’s largest gay archives. CLUBS AND BARS Notable gay-friendly venues include Mary’s bar in East Atlanta and Lil’ Deb’s Oasis in Hudson, New York City. West Hollywood’s The Abbey attracts celebrity clients while Micky’s West Hollywood is known for its drag shows. Bonham Exchange, in San Antonio, has drag shows and day parties that sweep guests up in 'a happy vibe'. CALIFORNIA CALLING Several U.S. ski resorts host gay ski weeks. Elevation Mammoth in March attracts 2,500 skiers and boarders, with dance parties and events all over the California mountain resort.
