LONGWOOD GARDENS, PENNSYLVANIA Located west of Philadelphia, one of the USA's top horticultural attractions features 1,050 acres of woodlands, gardens, conservatories, fountains and 10,000 plant species. Originally a Quaker farm and arboretum, there are seasonal displays, exhibitions, live music and theatre performances. MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN, ST. LOUIS Founded in 1859, America’s oldest botanical garden has quadrupled in size and now spans 79 acres in the heart of St. Louis. Major attractions include one of North America’s largest traditional Japanese gardens and the Climatron geodesic dome conservatory, with 2,800 plants, half of them tropical species. BELLAGIO BOTANICAL GARDENS, LAS VEGAS Each new season sees the 14,000-square-foot Botanical Gardens inside the Bellagio’s Conservatory transformed into a floral fairyland tableau complete with plants, flowers, trees, figures, animals and accompanying sounds.
