Daytona Beach World's Most Famous Itinerary

The Daytona Beach area is renowned for things that are “World Famous.” Daytona International Speedway, home to the DAYTONA 500 NASCAR Cup Series race, is known as the “World Center of Racing.” The 23 miles of pristine white sand beaches in the Daytona Beach area are referred to as the “World’s Most Famous Beach.” Become world famous and explore all the world-famous attractions and activities in the Daytona Beach area with this specially designed itinerary.

STOP ONE: Daytona International Speedway Track Tours
Visit the “World Center of Racing,” along with a visit to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and gift shop. Go behind the scenes and discover what makes Daytona International Speedway the “World Center of Racing.” Take a ride through the speedway infield, see the 31-degree high banks up close, visit Victory Lane and view this year’s winning DAYTONA 500 car.  Also included is a ticket to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, which honors all forms of racing and save time for shopping in the gift shop.

Recommended dining: Located across the street from Daytona International Speedway is ONE DAYTONA, a retail, dining and entertainment destination with restaurants such as 4 Rivers Smokehouse, BurgerTen, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, Stoked Poke and Tiano’s.
STOP TWO: Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Statue at Riverfront Esplanade
The 13-foot-tall statue celebrates Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the founder of a small school in the early 1900s that evolved into Bethune-Cookman University, a civil rights and women's rights pioneer, and the champion of Black Daytona Beach residents who fought for their most basic needs and rights. The bronze sculpture is 829 pounds, and the granite pedestal base is 14,050 pounds.

STOP THREE: Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Statue
Relive history at this minor league baseball park where ground-breaking African-American baseball player Jackie Robinson played in the first integrated Major League Baseball spring training game in 1946. The ballpark, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, features a statue of Robinson, historical markers and a museum and serves as the home to the Daytona Tortugas, a Cincinnati Reds-affiliated minor league team.

STOP FOUR: World Famous Boat Tours
Cruise the waters of the Halifax River with World Famous Boat Tours. See the wildlife in their natural habitat while also learning interesting information and facts about the area.

Recommended dining: A wide selection of restaurants are located along Beach Street including Little Italy Ristorante, Dancing Avocado Kitchen, Tia Cori’s Tacos or Macker Seafood or order box lunches with Double Dippin’.
STOP FIVE: Tomoka State Park and the Legend of Chief Tomokie Statue
Native Americans once dwelled in the Tomoka State Park area, living off fish-filled lagoons. Today, the waters surrounding the park are popular for canoeing, boating, and fishing. Tomoka State Park protects a variety of wildlife habitats and endangered species, such as the West Indian manatee, and is a bird watcher's paradise with over 160 species sighted. Visitors can stroll a one-half-mile nature trail through a hardwood hammock that was once an indigo field for an 18th-century British landowner. The memory of the Timucua is commemorated by a large statue in the park called the “Legend of Tomokie.”

STOP SIX: The Casements
The Casements, named for the large hand-cut casement windows that adorn the mansion, is the winter home of the late John D. Rockefeller, an American business magnate and philanthropist. Also known as "The Jewel of Ormond Beach," The Casements has been officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated as a Florida Heritage Site. Learn how Rockefeller’s influence and residency in Ormond Beach attracted visitors of wealth to visit and reside from New York City and Boston’s socialite communities.

STOP SEVEN: World's Most Famous Brewery
Pull up a barstool and grab a beer. Local brews on tap include My Lite Buddy, Where's The Pineapple, 'Tober Bier, and Hopcycler. The brewery also offers Chu' Bacon Me Crazy Beer, with a sweet smoked maple bacon taste, down to the fascinating Frooty Booty, fermented with the flavor-blasting cereal we all remember, Fruity Pebbles. Tours are available with advanced reservations.
