Epic Road Trip: Los Angeles to Las Vegas

Los Angeles and Las Vegas are two of the most beloved cities to visit in the USA. Combining these two iconic destinations into one epic holiday, with fantastic stops along the way, makes for one of the most popular road trips in America.

Why Visit Los Angeles

Los Angeles, the most iconic city in California, is home to the world-famous Hollywood Boulevard and Rodeo Drive. Just a short drive away, you can enjoy the stunning beaches of Malibu and the vibrant Santa Monica Pier. Don't miss out on the excitement of Disneyland California and Universal Studios Hollywood, which are among the top attractions in the City of Angels.

Why Visit Las Vegas

Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, is known for its glamorous casinos, spectacular shows, world-class restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. The city's grand hotels are a sight to behold. From Las Vegas, you can also explore some of America's most breathtaking natural landscapes, including the Grand Canyon National Park, Lake Tahoe, Red Rock Canyon, and more.

Why Combine These Cities with an Epic Road Trip?

The drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is straightforward yet offers the potential for an exciting adventure! While the direct route takes about 4.5 hours, we recommend taking the scenic route to enjoy some incredible stops along the way. Just imagine driving a convertible through the desert on a sunny summer day!

Quick Route

For a quick trip, take Highway 10 to Highway 15 and stay on it until you reach Las Vegas. This route is the fastest, using the freeway the entire way. This is great for those who want to enjoy the vibes of a USA road trip through the desert, but don’t want to dedicate an entire day or two to it.

Scenic Route

For those who want a more leisurely and scenic drive, our top suggestion is to take historic Route 66 from Victorville to Barstow. Along this legendary road, you'll find classic diners, quirky shops, and the famous Bottle Tree Ranch. Don't miss the Route 66 Museum to learn about the history of the iconic Mother Road.

The REALLY Scenic Route

If you have extra time and don't need to complete your trip in one day, consider visiting the Mojave National Preserve or Death Valley. The Mojave National Preserve offers stunning landscapes like the Kelso Dunes, while Death Valley, one of the hottest places on earth, boasts unique vegetation and dramatic scenery. Why not spend a night at The Inn at Death Valley. Note that these routes have long stretches without fuel, food, or water, so plan accordingly.
