Visit USA Media Awards: Photographic Feature Award

Photographer Oliver Hellowell won this year’s Photographic Feature Award for the series of breathtaking shots that show Tennesee’s flora and fauna. His Smoky Mountains assignment, which was commissioned by Tennessee Tourism, showcases Oliver’s talents and vision behind the lens of a camera. The work received universal accolade and the engaging photographs have featured on BBC’s The One Show and were exhibited at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 gallery space.

Taking a road trip across the US you will need to be 21+

A full UK driver's license is required to hire a car in the USA. Drivers must be 21 or over - or 25+ with some companies.

The USA uses two-pin plugs so adaptors are required. Electrical goods bought in the USA may not work correctly in the UK.

Make sure you have travel and medical insurance for your visit

Insurance

Medical expenses are high in the USA so travel insurance with medical cover of at least £2million is recommended.

Tipping in America

Tipping

Tipping in the USA is the norm. As a minimum, tip 15% when dining in restaurants or $1 per drink in bars.
