Day 1 - Fly from the UK to Boston
As America’s oldest city, Boston has a lot of history, but yet has a modern and contemporary vibe. Year-round you can enjoy everything from the Red Sox and Paul Revere to Cheers and clam chowder! Find your way around on foot or using the ‘T’, the local subway system that runs throughout Boston, into Cambridge and nearby suburbs, providing access to the main Boston attractions.
Days 2-3 - Discover Boston
Spend a couple of days getting to know the vibrant downtown and various neighbourhoods of the city. Regardless of whether you are a history buff, sports fanatic, beer drinker, marathon runner, music lover, foodie, outdoor enthusiast, cultural vulture or indeed all of these, you won’t run out of things to do! A great way to get your bearings and learn a bit more about the city, is to walk the Freedom Trail a well-preserved pedestrian path that weaves in and out of historic neighbourhoods. Then you can delve into a host of different experiences and sights.
Day 4 - Day Trip to Salem or Whale Watching
From May to October, you can take a whale-watching tour from the New England Aquarium, guided by a marine biologist, which will take you out to the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, a rich feeding ground for whales, dolphins, sea birds, and other marine creatures. Stellwagen is home to many species of large whales, including humpbacks, finbacks, and minkes. Alternatively stay on dry-land and take a short train ride out to Salem, known for the Salem Witch Trials and Salem Haunted Happenings, the largest celebration of Halloween in the world!
