Lots to look forward to in Louisville 2024!

Louisville has been named by both Travel + Leisure and Frommer’s Guide Book’s as a ‘Top Places to Visit in 2024’. It’s easy to see why with sporting icons like Muhammad Ali and the Kentucky Derby, a booming Bourbon scene, and a bustling food and music scene. Here are a few of the things we are looking forward to most in 2024:
The 150th Kentucky Derby
The Derby hasn’t been missed since 1875, and in 2024 it’ll run again for the 150th time on the 4th May. Don your top hat or fascinator and join the festivities as we celebrate this iconic sporting occasion!
PGA Championship
Not 10 days after the Kentucky Derby, the 2024 PGA Championship returns to Louisville as Valhalla Golf Club hosts the world’s greatest golfers between the 13th - 19th May.
ALI the Musical
A Musical? Muhammad Ali? Absolutely! And it’s hitting the stage in the fall of 2024. Embrace the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali in his hometown of Louisville at the Kentucky Centre before it heads to NYC Broadway in 2025.
Louder than Life
Join us for 4-days of festivities at the ‘Largest Rock Festival in America’. Returning to Louisville for its 10th year, internationally acclaimed rock bands accompany a wide range of local food and drink including popular Kentucky Bourbon brands.
Bob Dylan’s The Last Refuge
The renowned Grammy Award and Nobel Prize-winning songwriter is opening a new music venue, bar, and restaurant inside a 150-year-old church. Located in the up-and-coming NuLu neighbourhood, the venue houses a towering whiskey wall featuring over 1,500 whiskey brands behind the bar.
Pursuit Spirits Visitor Experience
In Fall 2024, the hosts of Bourbon Pursuit are opening Pursuit Spirits on Main Street in downtown Louisville. This new bourbon destination, offers visitors the chance to choose a barrel, fill their own bottle, and enjoy unique educational experiences.
Trellis Brewing
It’ll be hard to miss this 7,500-square-food brewery and taproom in the Louisville Smoketown neighbourhood, stop by for modern IPAs and stouts made with Kentucky-grown barley.
Derby City Gaming Downtown
The first major gaming area in the Louisville area, will feature 50 slot-like historical horse racing machines and three unique bar concepts. Move through the venue from the sports bar, to a premium bourbon library, finishing at an elegant wine and charcuterie lounge.
Kentucky Derby Museum
To celebrate the 150th Kentucky Derby, two new exhibits will be open in 2024. The Riders Up! Exhibit will allow guests to race each other a virtual gaming experience, whilst the second exhibit will showcase 150 years of Derby fashion.
Tempo by Hilton
This new-build hotel will feature 130 rooms across 6 stories and a beautiful rooftop bar. Happy hour anyone? Within walking distance you’ll find many top restaurants, Bourbon distilleries, and the Louisville Slugger Field.
