AmeriCan Ski staff tell you why these are their favourite places to ski and board

Winter Park, Colorado. Just 75 minutes from Denver and voted Colorado’s top adventure town for the 2nd year in a row, Winter Park has everything from beautifully-groomed pistes to stunning tree-lined powder and ski-in, ski-out accommodation
Park City, Utah. Not only does Park City have 7300 acres and 348 trails, it is also the gateway to a wealth of other great resorts - Deer Valley, Solitude, Alta, Snowbird and Brighton so no chance of getting bored here!
Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado. From 5-star hotels to regular condos you don’t have to BE rich and famous to ski with the rich and famous! Aspen’s airport is moments from town, so you can be on the slopes almost as soon as you’ve landed
Mammoth Mountain, California. Who knew California had such a long ski season! After a great ski or snowboard holiday, top up your tan on the beaches of sunny Southern California
Sugarbush, Vermont. For some of the best skiing in New England you can’t beat Sugarbush. With short flights from the UK, a season that extends thru April, and over 60% of the runs for beginners and intermediates it’s a great option for families
Big Sky, Montana. Wide open spaces, 36 lifts and an average snowfall of 400 inches a year means queues are almost unheard of here
Taos, New Mexico. An average 300 days a year of sunshine doesn’t stop Taos ski resort from having 300 inches of snow and 110 trails to ski or board– what a fabulous combination!
Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Ski and wildlife.. combine your ski trip with a visit to the Elk Sanctuary, a Wolf Safari, or a trip into Yellowstone National Park. Jackson Hole is a fab ski and snowboard destination with varied terrain for all abilities and extensive, easily accessible back country options for adventurous types
Squaw Valley, California. Linked with Alpine Meadows this is one of the largest ski areas in the USA. The car-free slopeside village gives an alpine feel to Squaw Valley with great ski in/out lodging but the main attraction is the variety of slopes from the very challenging to suit the most extreme skier to wide open groomed bowls for everyone else!
Sun Valley, Idaho. America’s first destination ski resort and home of the very first chairlift in the world, we love Sun Valley Ski Resort. With a blue run making a 3000-ft vertical drop from the top of Bald Mountain it’s great for intermediates aiming to upgrade their skills as well as having plenty for experts and learners too.
