Local History Walking Tour
- Students at Ithaca
College along with Luca Maurer, director, The Center for LGBT Education,
Outreach & Services have just launched a new LGBTQ Local History Walking Your
throughout the city of Ithaca. The tour includes 32 stops over 7 miles and is
available as a self-guided experience through the free app PocketSights
IC’s collaboration with the History Center, it has already been designed as an
Ithaca Heritage Tour. Bars and public spaces in Ithaca have been
sites of LGBTQ resistance and resilience for decades. This LGBTQ local history
tour is designed to preserve some of the rich stories and heritage of the
Finger Lakes Craft Beverage- The LGBTQ owners of Americana Winery
know how to put on a good time and create a sense of community for anyone who
visits. In the summer months, there is
weekly live music and special events.
Discover Cayuga Lake Boat Cruises- Discover Cayuga Lake offers evening
special events billed as Club Cayuga, including LGBTQ Cruises. Catch the beautiful sunsets on Cayuga Lake
accompanies by DJs to set the mood.
Shopping and Family-Friendly Downtown- The Downtown Ithaca Commons is
pedestrian-centric with vibrant public art and a variety of restaurants.
For family-friendly independent shops with alternative and local options, check

Nightlife- Several Downtown establishments promote safe
& inclusive evening environments, such as Bar Argos and The Watershed.
