The Great American West

The western U.S. states of Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming capture the true essence of the real America. From awe-inspiring scenery across unforgettable National Parks to legendary Wild West and Native American history, the Great American West has it all.

In Idaho, the Gem State, explore the rugged beauty of the Sawtooth Mountains, wander the volcanic landscapes of Craters of the Moon National Monument, or marvel at the thundering Mesa Falls. Natural wonders await around every bend. In North Dakota, take to two wheels on the nationally acclaimed Maah Daah Hey Trail, experience the Medora Musical, dubbed “The Greatest Show in the West "or travel the quirky Enchanted Highway to discover large-scale sculptures crafted from scrap metal. For an up-close encounter with the locals in South Dakota, plan a visit to Custer State Park during the annual Buffalo Roundup each September, where 1,300 bison are herded, sorted and treated by local cowboys. Pair this with a stop at one of America’s most iconic landmarks, Mount Rushmore. In Wyoming, witness geysers and hot springs in the world’s first national park, Yellowstone, and experience true cowboy culture at Cheyenne Frontier Days each July.

To reach the Great American West, fly into the gateway cities of Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis–St. Paul/Bloomington, Minnesota; or Salt Lake City, Utah, or connect via one of the USA’s international hubs to a variety of regional airports across the four States.
