Dutchess County is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley with the stunning backdrop of the natural scenic beauty of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains. Located only 115 km from New York City by car and 90 minutes by train. Dutchess is easy to reach from NYC by train ride along the Hudson River on Amtrak (NY Penn Station) and Metro-North Railroad (Grand Central Station) with trains leaving approximately every hour to Dutchess County stops Beacon, Poughkeepsie and Rhinecliff. Fly/Drive travelers can now fly Norwegian Air from Edinburgh and Belfast direct to Stewart International Airport in the Hudson Valley which is only 15 minutes from Dutchess County.

Dutchess attractions include Dia:Beacon, a 34,000 square foot museum of all natural light featuring large installations by world-renowned artists from the 1960s to the present; Walkway Over the Hudson, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge features a glass-enclosed elevator ride 64.6 meters from the waterfront to unprecedented views and the bridge which connects to nearly 32 km of rail trail for hiking and biking; Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites which includes the birthplace and final resting place of Franklin D. Roosevelt, America’s 32nd president and the only one elected to four terms; FDR Presidential Library & Museum, America’s first presidential library and the only one used by a sitting president; The Culinary Institute of America offering student-guided tours and four public restaurants; The Great Estates historic sites from Dutch Colonial homes to Gilded Age mansions; Dutchess Beverage Trail of award-winning wineries, cideries, distilleries and breweries; farms and farm markets; historic boutique villages for shopping and antiquing, farm-to-table restaurants and the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome where visitors can enjoy an airshow Mid-June through mid-October of vintage and WWI ear aircraft and take to the skies in an open air biplane ride over the Hudson Valley.
