Many of the festivals are intertwined between the two destinations. From German‑inspired food fests to riverfront fireworks, Pride celebrations to paddle parades, this cross‑river calendar will help pick the perfect moment to visit.
There has never been a better moment to experience the Cincy Region’s vibrant festival scene, with the timing perfectly aligned as British Airways expanded its nonstop London Heathrow to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport service to six weekly flights from 29 March 2026, increasing capacity by 55 to 60 percent in response to rising demand.
Cincy Fringe Theatre Festival: 29 May - 13 June 2026
Long recognised as a city famed for its art and cultural scene, the Fringe festival allows travellers to dip their toe into a two‑week celebration of experimental theatre, comedy, dance, and performance art across Over‑the‑Rhine.
Cincinnati Pride Month: June 2026
Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky celebrate Pride with two major events: NKY Pride on June 7 and the larger Cincinnati Pride on June 27. Both feature vibrant parades, energetic festivals, and community‑driven programming. Together, they form one of the Midwest’s largest Pride celebrations, bridging the river to unite both regions. Across both weekends, the city comes alive with a high‑energy parade, a sprawling festival, and dozens of neighbourhood events that highlight Cincinnati’s inclusive spirit.
Cincinnati Music Festival: 23–25 July 2026
This festival is a national cornerstone of R&B and soul, drawing tens of thousands to Paycor Stadium to celebrate. Mary J. Blige, Charlie Wilson, Nelly and Trey Songz are all headlining this year's festival.
Goettafest: July & August 2026 (Two Weekends)
Goetta is a regional specialty of the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, created by 19th‑century German immigrants who used oats to stretch small amounts of meat into a unique local speciality. A uniquely Cincinnati celebration taking place 23-26 July 23-26 and 30 July until 2 August bridging both sides of the river and dedicated to the region’s German heritage‑inspired meat patty.
Ohio River Paddlefest: 1 August 2026
Ohio River Paddlefest is recognised as the US’ largest paddling celebration with over 1,800 participants traveling downriver through downtown Cincinnati in canoes, kayaks and other human-powered craft. Paddlefest is organized by Adventure Crew, a non-profit organization that connects city teens to nature and each other through engaging outdoor adventures.
38th Annual Black Family Reunion: 13 - 16 August 2026
A multi‑day celebration of heritage, unity, and community empowerment. Black Family Reunion brings together live music, inspiring speakers, community recognition, family experiences, and city-wide events across Cincinnati and northern Kentucky.
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati: 17 -20 September 2026
Celebrating its 50th year, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati remains the largest Oktoberfest outside Munich, transforming downtown Cincinnati into a full Bavarian‑style celebration. So iconic, in fact, that it leads the global Oktoberfest season by kicking off in September, a full month before its namesake. America’s Oktoberfest returns to Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove for its milestone 50th Anniversary. First held in 1976, the nation’s largest Oktoberfest continues to grow, last year welcoming a record 818,532 attendees who came together to honour the rich German heritage of Southwest Ohio. The Running of the Wieners takes place during Oktoberfest on Friday, September 19, from 12 PM–2 PM at the River Stage, a dachshund dash where tiny pups in hot‑dog costumes sprint down a 75‑foot track.
BLINK: 8-11 October 2026
BLINK, the nation's largest art and light projection mapping event transforms Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky into one of the world’s most extraordinary open‑air galleries, illuminating more than 30 city blocks with large‑scale projection mapping, interactive light installations and vibrant street art.
PNC Festival of Lights — November–January
One of Cincinnati’s longest‑running and most cherished holiday traditions, consistently voted among the best zoo light displays in the United States is Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens PNC Festival of Lights. Illuminating winter with millions of lights, themed displays, and family‑friendly magic, it remains a must-see seasonal visit for visitors and locals alike.
35th Servatii Bockfest
Bockest is Cincinnati’s annual celebration of Spring, the area's brewing heritage and bock beer. It takes place in Over-the-Rhine’s historic brewery district and includes a parade, 5k race, bock beer, music and entertainment at Bockfest Hall.
Cincinnati International Wine Festival - March 2027
Founded in 1991, the mission of the wine festival is to raise funds and distribute grants to arts, education, and health and human services charities in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, while promoting the wine industry. The event is made up of Grand Tastings, Winery Dinners and Fund raising auctions which have raised almost 7 million for charity.
Reds Opening Day & Parade - March 2027
As the home of the first professional baseball team, the Reds’ Opening Day Parade is a big deal and bursts into Cincinnati with a city‑wide celebration, led by the iconic Findlay Market Parade that fills downtown with marching bands, floats, local celebrities, and thousands of fans.
Flying Pig Marathon — April 2027
One of America’s most beloved marathons, and a bucket‑list race for runners worldwide. Known for its humour, community support, and “IYKYK” charm, the Flying Pig Marathon returns in 2027 focusing only on the Ohio side of the river. The course is lined with flying pig statues, a playful tribute to Cincinnati’s history and its old nickname, Porkopolis.
Zoo Blooms — April 2027
One of the most iconic photo experiences annually in April takes place at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden for Zoo Blooms, as it bursts into colour each April with more than 100,000 tulips and thousands of flowering trees. 2027 dates are still to be released but the exhibit can be seen through-out April.
Cincy Cinco — 2 May 2027
A vibrant two‑day celebration of Latino culture, music, dance, and food. Cincy-Cinco is Cincinnati’s long‑running Latino festival, created to celebrate Cinco de Mayo weekend with an explosion of flavour, rhythm, and community spirit.
Cincy Spring Fest — May 2027
Hosted by The Artisan Marketplace, the open-air market features Cincinnati's small businesses, handmade goods, vintage finds, art, fashion and food vendors all in one place. It’s a chance for shoppers to discover one-of-a-kind products while vendors connect with a strong local following ready to shop small.
