With a population of just over 1,000, there aren’t many people who can claim this sweet town as their home, but there are a few Southerners to come out of this community that might pique your interest. Rosemary Clooney, the iconic singer and actress who starred in everyone’s favorite holiday flick White Christmas, lived in Augusta from 1980 until her passing in 2002.Her equally famous nephew George Clooney even graduated from Augusta High School.

You can visit one of the country’s oldest wine cellars, take a stroll along the river, or check out the largest collection of “White Christmas” memorabilia in the world. In Augusta, you can enjoy a slower pace, but there’s never a dull moment. Find out the top nine things to do when you visit here
