Outdoor Adventures in New Orleans

Visiting New Orleans would not be the same without a taste of Mardi Gras magic, and there are plenty of ways families can experience this. At Jamnola, families will explore an immersive, interactive experience designed by local artists that celebrate the city’s culture through vibrant exhibits. Each room is a visual story celebrating the art, music and spirit of Mardi Gras. For a behind-the-scenes experience look at the festival, Mardi Gras World offers a tour of the massive warehouse where the iconic floats are made. Families can see the magic up close how these masterpieces come to life and learn all about the historical tradition.
Storyland is also a must-visit. This outdoor playground brings storybooks to life with themed zones featuring pirate ships, life-sized whales, and classic characters around every corner. Kids can explore, climb and learn through play and with an on-site rollercoaster that winds through the park.
The Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, is a gem packed with nostalgic charm. Home to more than 17 attractions, the park features everything from a classic Ferris wheel to bumper cars, and even a rideable miniature train. The park offers a true slice of American amusement history, with the beautifully restored Flying Hoses carousel, which is one of the oldest in the country.
