The Guided Tours Bringing Philadelphia’s Stories to Life

Philadelphia is a city built on stories – revolutionary history, legendary food, world-class art, and, of course, the enduring spirit of Rocky Balboa.
And now, thanks to a wide variety of guided tours, visitors can experience these stories in immersive and unforgettable ways. Whether it’s your first time in the City of Brotherly Love or a return visit, these tours offer new perspectives and insider insights that bring Philadelphia to life.

Rocky’s 50th Anniversary: Step Into the Films
To celebrate 50 years of Rocky, the Rocky Philadelphia 2025 Summer Tour Series is rolling through the city, running on Saturdays until the end of August. In partnership with Pat’s King of Steaks and WeVenture Tours, the 2.5 hour Rocky Bus Tour explores neighbourhoods made famous by the films, giving fans the chance to retrace the footsteps of Philly’s most famous underdog.
Beyond Rocky, film buffs can dive deeper with Viator’s Philadelphia Movie and Television Sites Walking Tour, which showcases filming locations from cult favourites including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Cold Case, Trading Places, and The Sixth Sense.
History Brought to Life
Philadelphia’s history is never far from view, and guided tours make it come alive. The Constitutional Walking Tour offers a lively 75-minute exploration of Independence National Historical Park, led by engaging guides who bring early America’s defining moments to life
WeVenture’s Philadelphia History Highlights and Revolution Tour expands the story, while The Black Journey Tour offers four themed walks exploring Philadelphia’s rich Black history – with powerful stops at significant sites, monuments, and buildings. And for the ultimate highlight, a National Park Service tour of Independence Hall – where the Declaration of Independence was signed – connects you directly to the birthplace of a nation.
Art, Murals and Creative Neighbourhoods
Known as the Mural Capital of the World, Philadelphia offers guided and self-guided tours with Mural Arts Philadelphia, showcasing more than 4,000 public works across the city. In South Philly, WeVenture’s Arts Tour dives into neighbourhood creativity, while Beyond the Bell’s Badass Women’s History Tour reveals the untold stories of remarkable women who shaped the city.
Foodie Adventures with Local Flavour
Philadelphia’s culinary scene is every bit as rich as its history. With Chef Jacquie’s STrEATS of Philly Food Tours, visitors can go behind the scenes of the Italian Market or East Passyunk Avenue – lunch and dinner included. City Food Tours leads the way through icons like Reading Terminal Market and Fishtown, while beer lovers can hop on City Brew Tours for a taste of the city’s craft brewing scene. And for those with a sweet tooth, the Underground Donut Tour offers everything from inventive flavours at Federal Donuts to timeless classics at Beiler’s Doughnuts.
Views from the Top: City Hall Tours
No trip to Philadelphia is complete without a stop at City Hall, the world’s tallest masonry load-bearing structure. The City Hall Tower Tour takes you 548 feet above ground for panoramic views of the skyline and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, while the City Hall Building Tour explores the history, art, and remarkable architecture of this landmark, including over 250 sculptures adorning its exterior.

With knowledgeable guides leading the way, every experience promises unforgettable stories and a deeper connection to the City of Brotherly Love.
