Kentucky's Charming Small Towns

Many Kentucky villages will transport you to a charming, cheesy, small-town Christmas film, complete with parades, decorations, reindeer, and more.
Located in Northern Kentucky on the Ohio River, Maysville is a thriving community that embraces the holidays. Santa Claus himself, together with hundreds of beautiful floats and live music, are all part of the Downtown Twilight Christmas Parade.Don't miss the
Old Washington neighborhood's historic Frontier Christmas Festival in addition to the parade. Amid some of the oldest structures in the area, the Christmas Market offers live music, farm-fresh cuisine, and artisan products.
Heading southwest to Bowling Green, you'll discover another Christmas treasure. Fountain Square Park, in the centre of downtown, transforms into a winter wonderland during the first week of December. Sparkling with vibrant displays of lights, it makes an evening stroll a magical walk to remember. Stop by the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Centre (SKyPAC) and enjoy the 25-foot Christmas tree and lights draped around Circus Square Park.
On the outskirts of Bowling Green is a farm dedicated to rearing a multitude of Santa's helpers—reindeer. Known simply as The Reindeer Farm, this festive destination invites the public to meet reindeer in person. Throughout December, the farm hosts a petting zoo featuring reindeer and other farm animals, an indoor playground, and a full calendar of Christmas activities.
London is a lively yet small city nestled in the foothills of Appalachia, and each holiday season, Londoners make their city special by hanging Christmas lights on rooftops, streetlamps, and trees. Along with the decorations, London fills its calendar with a large programmable Christmas tree, Christmas book walk, concerts, and other festivities.
Every Saturday in December, Henderson, a city on the Ohio River in western Kentucky, turns its Central Park into a Christmas village, complete with sparkling decorations and joyous entertainment. Remember to stroll around Colonial Court, which is located off Henderson's Main Street. Every year, residents and tourists alike are delighted by "Christmas Court," a quaint cul-de-sac of six white houses that come to life with well-coordinated decorations to create a magical, festive atmosphere.
The variety of holiday pleasure that Kentucky has to offer is far greater than this list of picturesque towns and cities. A winter paradise awaits you throughout the entire commonwealth.
