Winter in Tucson

Each December, the Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair takes place in Tucson’s historic district. Ranked as a top 100 event nationally, the fair welcomes more than 350,00 visitors and offers live entertainment with over 40 food vendors. This year marks the festival’s 56th annual winter fair and has a history which promotes hand-made art with global artists in attendance.
For some seasonal entertainment, the Gaslight Theatre, a local institution which has been entertaining Tucson since 1977 is the perfect place for visitors. Known for its family-friendly shows and epic menu. This year’s performance of “A Small Town Christmas”, is a must-see tradition. If you’re looking for another local favourite, La Encantada promises to wow visitors with flurries of snow in the Tucson desert in November and December.
Visitors can shop for gifts and enjoy local cuisine. Holiday traditions continue at Jacome Plaza, home to southern Arizona’s tallest Christmas tree. The 36-foot tree is decked with thousands of LED lights and promises to put visitors in the festive spirit.
