Two of Cleveland’s most recognisable attractions will enter a new chapter in 2026, with significant expansions designed to enhance the visitor experience and strengthen the city’s cultural offering.
---------------------------------------------
The
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will open its highly anticipated
$175 million expansion next autumn, adding 50,000 square feet to its lakefront home. The project preserves architect I.M. Pei’s iconic glass pyramid while introducing new exhibition galleries, a performance venue for 800 to 1,000 guests, and indoor and outdoor public gateways that connect visitors directly to Lake Erie. A new ADA-accessible community park will form part of the expanded campus, enhancing the museum’s role as a global gathering place.
In Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighbourhood, the
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will debut the first phase of its
$120 million Primate Forest in 2026. This development marks the zoo’s most significant expansion in over 100 years. The immersive new habitat will showcase orangutans and other primate species in advanced environments created to support conservation, education and wellness. Visitors will also be able to explore the CrossCountry Mortgage Forest Gallery, offering an up-close look into animal care and enrichment programmes.
As part of its commitment to belonging and inclusive travel, Destination Cleveland has launched a new initiative supporting accessible exploration through a partnership with
Wheel the World. An initial list of verified accessible hotels, attractions and experiences is now available on
ThisisCleveland.com and
WheelTheWorld.com, helping visitors plan and explore the city with confidence.

These developments reflect the ongoing evolution of Cleveland’s visitor experience and highlight two of the city’s most important cultural institutions as they prepare to welcome travellers in 2026.
