Tailor-made tour operator Frontier America is gearing up for a
Utah "set-jetting" boom after the release Kevin Costner's Horizon: An American Saga. The second installment of the four part series is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 16. Two of the Beehive State's "Mighty 5" national parks, Arches and Zion, are close to
the main movie backdrops, with filming taking place in Grand County and Washington County.
Jeremy Timms, Managing Director of Frontier America, comments, "With the story split into four separate films, Horizon is poised to generate a substantial and lasting boost to tourism. We anticipate a significant increase in bookings, with Utah's breathtaking backdrops elevating the cinematography to new heights and amplifying the desire to "set-jet" in the state."
The tailor-made 17-night "Star Studded Journey" fly-drive includes two nights in St. George—one of the prominent filming locations—with the opportunity to visit the nearby Snow Canyon State Park, the Paiute Indian Reservation, and the Pine Valley Mountains, where parts of Costner's tetralogy were also shot. Price on request.
The Horizon crew is set to resume filming this autumn. Simona Sacrifizi, travel writer and USA specialist, comments, "While there are no exact dates and locations available just yet, filming will likely take place in the Zion and St. George areas between September and October."
