Visitors to Miami are being invited to hop to
its burgeoning craft beer options.
The Florida city's brewery scene has been
growing fast in recent years, with numerous popular local options stretching
across Greater Miami & Miami Beach, from South Beach to Wynwood, Doral and
beyond, and new craft brew hotspots are opening all the time.
A starting point for any brewery tour is Abbey
Brewing Company in South Beach, which has been brewing its own Trappist-style
beers since 1995.
With a stained-glass window and wooden benches
that resemble pews, this laidback spot has an Old World feel, and the beers
have on-theme names such as The Immaculate IPA, Father Theodore’s Stout, and
Brother Dan’s Double.
J. Wakefield Brewing, Veza Sur Brewing Co. and
Cerveceria La Tropical are some of the many breweries housed in spacious
indoor-outdoor warehouse-style settings with live entertainment, casual fare
and food trucks.
For a
one-of-a-kind setting for suds, head to South Dade’s Redland area and Miami
Brewing Co. at Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery, where the craft beers
are made with local tropical fruits: these include Shark Bait, where a
speciality is wheat ale made with mango. And build in time to consider popular
beer hangouts like The Tank Brewing Co. and MIA Beer Company in Doral,
Unbranded Brewing Co. in Hialeah and Focal Brewing Company in the Little River
area, near Little Haiti.
