StayArlington Launches ‘The Insider’s Guide to Our Outside’

Arlington, Virginia, is today launching ‘The Insider’s Guide to Our Outside’. The campaign invites travellers to enjoy Arlington’s ideal combination of outdoor fun and urban amenities, focusing on fresh-air experiences including parks and nature centres, 75 miles of trails, memorials and historic sights, waterfront experiences, public art walking tours, rooftop/patio dining and more.
With 44 hotels that are on average 20% cheaper than downtown D.C., historic trails, memorials and monuments, as well as a vibrant nightlife scene, Arlington is the perfect U.S. city break destination.
Outdoor Trails:
Ride, run, hike or stroll through forests, over streams and past scenic vistas on Arlington's trails. Alternatively visitors create their own sightseeing tour to Washington, D.C., Old Town Alexandria and beyond with ideas from BikeArlington and WalkArlington.
Memorials & Historic Sights:
Experience the outdoor beauty of national treasures like Arlington National Cemetery, the Air Force Memorial, Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima) and the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. Learn about Arlington's rich African American history.
Waterfront Experiences:
Take in world-famous views from Arlington's Potomac riverfront and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, and enjoy nature at Theodore Roosevelt Island, the LBJ Memorial Grove on the Potomac and Gravelly Point.
Public Art Walking Tours:
Discover Arlington's internationally renowned permanent collection of more than 60 public art projects, as well as periodic temporary projects, on a self-guided tour.
Rooftop Bars:
Drinking on rooftop bars is a popular pastime in Arlington and Washington, D.C. Locals take advantage of warm summer evenings to sip their favourite drinks with the stars and the city lights twinkling beyond.
The new Buena Vida Social Club rooftop bar atop the new Mexican restaurant Buena Vida, serves up delicious Mexican fare, brightly coloured cocktails, frozen drinks and neighbourhood views. Munch on freshly made guacamole, lamb birria, enchiladas, chilmole, seafood and other authentic eats as you sip on margaritas and other house-made cocktails.
Mingle with Arlingtonians for an after-work happy hour or night out on the town at Whitlow’s On Wilson. The Whitlow’s Rooftop Tiki Bar features festive cocktails and a beachy summer atmosphere that’s reminiscent of a tropical getaway right here in Arlington.
