A little over an hour’s drive from The Live Music Capital of the World®, Fredericksburg, known as the Heart of the Texas Hill Country, is a beloved destination for its historic charm, natural beauty and burgeoning wine scene.
The town has presented itself as the ideal home for the newest creation of Austin-based hospitality company, New Waterloo. The
Albert Hotel effortlessly blends thoughtful design, world-class amenities and dedication to local heritage.
The highly-anticipated
Albert Hotel opens its doors in 3 January, offering a unique blend of historic charm and modern elegance in the heart of Fredericksburg. Located at 213 East Austin Street and spanning an incredible 2 acres, this 105-room hotel is a testament to the Hill Country’s rich history and vibrant culture.
The property features a choice of bunk rooms, luxury suites, and a historic four-bedroom home, ideal for special occasions or group stays. State-of-the-art facilities include an outdoor pool, a full-service spa, and multiple dining and entertainment options, such as The Restaurant at
Albert Hotel, The Pharmacy, The Saloon and Junebug’s, a backyard BBQ experience opening in Spring 2025.
Designed by Clayton Korte in collaboration with New Waterloo, the hotel seamlessly integrates historic structures like the Keidel home, Brockmann-Kiehne House, and White Elephant Saloon with contemporary architecture. The design honours the 175-year legacy of the Keidel family, blending authentic craftsmanship with modern sophistication.
“This project is a love letter to Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country,” said a spokesperson from New Waterloo. “We’ve drawn inspiration from the landscape and local history to create a space that invites guests to experience the charm and serenity of this remarkable region.”
World-Class Culinary Experiences
The
Albert Hotel will further elevate the thriving local dining scene under the leadership of Executive Chef Michael Fojtasek, a three-time James Beard Award finalist. His innovative culinary approach blends traditional Southern flavours with modern techniques, promising memorable dining experiences.
A Tribute to Heritage and Nature
The lush grounds of the hotel, designed by Word + Carr Design Group, incorporate native plants and reclaimed materials, creating a harmonious connection between the natural surroundings and the historic property. Guests can enjoy meandering pathways, peaceful gardens, and an inviting circular pool.
