The Great American West – limited edition 5-state fly drive from AmeriCan & Worldwide

Starting in Rapid City, South Dakota, spend the first 3 nights exploring Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Badlands National Park and the Pine Ridge Reservation. See herds of bison at Custer State Park and visit Bear Country USA to see rescued grizzlies, brown bears and a variety of other indigenous wildlife
Move on to Deadwood, the former gold-mining town which was home to Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill Hickock. Mock gunfights will entertain you on Main Street, visit the Broken Boot Mine or sip a beer in one of the many saloons
As you leave Deadwood, take the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway to North Dakota’s Badlands and Medora. Visit the nearby South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt NP with buffalo herds, wild horses and prairie dogs. Take in the Medora Musical - a western show, nightly through the summer
On to Montana - drive through the Crow Reservation and visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument just south of Hardin as well as Bighorn County Museum and the site of General Custer’s infamous ‘Last Stand’
Next stop is stunning Glacier NP with more than a million acres of forests, alpine meadows, lakes, mountains and glacial-carved valleys. This diverse landscape hosts more than 70 species of mammal including grizzly bears and grey wolves and over 260 bird species including golden eagles. Take a self-drive tour of the Blackfeet Reservation following the historic Blackfeet Trail, and the Going-to-the-Sun Road, truly the scenic drive of a lifetime. Glacier offers plenty of outdoor activities – hiking, rafting, horse riding, rock climbing and more
Idaho is your next state. On to the mountain town of Salmon where Sacajawea, Lewis and Clark’s translator, companion and guide, was born. The Sacajawea Centre honours her role in the exploration of the American West. Salmon is a great place for exhilarating white-water rafting and relaxing in natural hot springs
Into Wyoming and Yellowstone NP with almost 60% of the world’s geysers including the famous Old Faithful. The abundant wildlife throughout Yellowstone is almost as famous as its geysers so keep your eye out for bear, elk, moose, wolves, bison and much more
Your final stop is the cowboy town of Jackson, surrounded by the 40-mile long Teton Mountain range and its 3 scenic drives. We highly recommend taking a wildlife expedition into the back country of Grand Teton National Park, otherwise inaccessible to traffic
