Georgia

The Peach State

Welcome to Georgia, a world of antebellum elegance, coastal beauty, cultural depth, and outdoor excitement. As The Peach State, Georgia blends historic charm, modern city energy, and natural wonders in a way only the Deep South can deliver.

Begin in Atlanta, Georgia’s bustling capital and gateway to the South. Discover attractions like the World of Coca-Cola, the Gone With the Wind Museum, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Center, and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. While Florida’s big cities offer high-octane fun and sprawling resorts, Atlanta’s vibrancy is anchored in history, innovation, and civic pride.

Travel the Antebellum Trail from Athens to Macon, crossing scenic country roads, manicured gardens, and elegant antebellum homes. With blossoming cherry and peach trees, live festivals, and charming architecture, this route reveals the story of Georgia’s heritage. Unlike Alabama, where rural landscapes feel more traditional, Georgia’s scenery offers a slightly different character with its greenery and rolling hills.

Visit Savannah, a city famous for its 22 historic green squares, Spanish moss-draped oak trees, and stunning soul food cafés. Just 20 minutes away, Tybee Island offers a relaxed, beach-town atmosphere that contrasts with Florida’s busy shoreline. Savannah remains graceful and timeless.

Further south lie Brunswick and the Golden Isles, which include Jekyll, St. Simons, and Sea Island, coastal gems featuring sandy beaches, nature reserves, salt marshes, and eco-friendly trails. The islands offer serene coastal exploration, distinct from Alabama’s Gulf shoreline, where development is more concentrated.

The North Georgia Mountains reveal a rustic, forested world of waterfalls, scenic drives, and state parks. Meanwhile, the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, one of North America's largest freshwater swamp ecosystems, invites travellers to kayak through cypress forests and subtropical, Okefenokee feels older, quieter, and more untamed.

Golf fans will appreciate Georgia's championship courses set among rolling hills, creek valleys, and mature oaks. Cultural life thrives through music festivals, regional fairs, historical tours, and community gatherings that celebrate everything from bluegrass to coastal heritage.

Whether it's exploring historic towns like Savannah and Macon, tapping your foot at a festival, or navigating ancient trails along riverbanks and gardens, Georgia travel offers a vibrant, storied experience. Compared to Florida, which focuses on beaches and theme parks, Georgia delivers a richer mix of history and culture. And while Alabama shares deep musical roots and southern tradition, Georgia's broader variety. from mountains to marshlands, makes it unforgettable in its own way.
